Ward Camp Directors

Here is a list of some of the responsibilities of the Ward Camp Director:

Before Camp-

  • Help the young women get registered for camp

  • Identify the Youth Camp Leaders, girls turning 16+, and help them get to their meetings with reminders

  • Register for camp before it closes

  • Come to meetings to get information and ask questions about camp

  • Secret Sister gift preparation and reminders

  • Have a complete and up to date youth protection training

  • Organize transportation to and from Camp Bountiful

During Camp-

  • Ward camp directors are required to stay for all of camp.

  • You are responsible for checking in on the health and safety of the girls in your ward while at camp, however the girls will be sleeping by age groups. There should be one or two adults from each ward attending in case of emergency to help keep the  girls at camp safe and accounted for.

  • Each director will also be assigned a year to watch over to ensure all girls are safe and preparing for bed, as well as keeping that cabin on schedule for activities and events throughout camp. There will be YCLs in each cabin as well to help ensure all campers are safe and accounted for.

  • During camp there are many activities that need adult help such as preparing food, arts & crafts, leading the hike, and monitoring shower times. These will be assigned/volunteered either at meetings or when you arrive at camp.

  • I'm sure there are other details missing! Feel free to reach out with any questions.
